JOG-A-THON
What is the Jog-a-thon?
On Thursday, October 19th, from 5:30-6:30pm each student will run, jog or walk around the track at Menchaca Elementary School. Prior to the event, each student will have an opportunity to raise pledges from family and friends for the school. The PTA will use these funds to provide enrichment programs like tutoring and support for the school. This event will be occurring in conjunction with Family Fitness Night in the Gym from 6-7:30 pm. So, run your laps and then head into the Gym for healthy snacks and games!!
Our Goal
We would like to raise $5,000....if every student participates, that's only $3 per student! We are also using 99 Pledges for online donations, so students will be able to share fundraising efforts via email and social media.
Parents you can create a 99 Pledges donation page for your child by going to

What do we need to do?
-
Ask relatives, friends, and neighbors to pledge either a flat amount or a per lap pledge. Younger students can run an average of 6-8 laps. Older students average 9-12 laps.
-
Share your own Jog-a-thon pledge page with friends and family. Build your own Jog-a-thon page on 99 Pledges.
-
Collect money after the Jog-a-thon (checks made payable to Menchaca PTA)
-
Turn in Pledge sheet for those that did not use 99 Pledges by November 3rd.
Are there prizes?
Yes! A medal will be earned by the child in each grade level who runs the most laps. These will be announced and distributed on Friday at the Morning Assembly. This year, we will be giving the Golden Horseshoe Trophy to the class with the Most Participation!
